The Magpies - A Musical Journey
A Journey Through Music and Passion
The Magpies, a live music duet, have been enchanting audiences for over 15 years with their soulful performances. The journey of The Magpies began when Cindy and Amanda, both seasoned musicians since childhood, joined forces and formed the duet. With a diverse repertoire that includes Oldies, Classics, Country, Pop, and Gospel, The Magpies have provided seamless musical experiences for various events such as business functions, parties, weddings, wakes, and dinners.
Cindy:
I have played piano, organ, keyboard, saxophone, and sang out in public since I was 12 years old. Began playing at churches, music stores, & weddings at 17. Played saxophone through college in a music scholarship. I have played in more than 12 bands, in different states. I currently am in Texas, am a Music Director at my church, playing piano, organ, & keyboard in the Praise Band, and in a Country Band. My friend Amanda and I formed the Magpies, duet, playing keyboard, guitar, harmonica, and both sing and harmonize.
Amanda:
I began singing in church and in pageants as a child. I lived in Nashville, was the Personal Assistant for Alabama, and later Kenny Chesney. I had the privilege of singing with many well known performers, before they “made” it. I returned to Texas, married and had a daughter, and now am a Music Director at the same church as Cindy. ( We met there when she was the pianist for the choir). I am the other part of the Magpie duet!
